Volunteers are an integral piece to Circle “C” Ranch! The Ranch is always looking for more volunteers - both Girl Scouts and grown-up Girl Scouts. Our most popular volunteer program is our Wrangler-in-Training (WIT) program for girls 13 and older.br>
Wrangler-In-Training Program
Join our Wrangler-in-Training (WIT) program. As a WIT you will learn how to teach others about horses. You’ll learn to teach about grooming, leading riding, and caring for horses. In return for your help at the barn you will have the opportunity to ride, broaden your knowledge of horses, and meet friends that share a love for horses.
Being a WIT can be hard work. WITs generally help with weekend riding programs. Some of their tasks include: feeding, cleaning stalls, grooming horses, tacking, leading horses on trail rides, assist in teaching ground and mounted lessons. As a WIT you can work as little or as much as you would like. However to be able to participate in WIT Riding times, you must volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per month. WITs are usually needed Saturdays and Sundays 9am-5pm during the school year
If you think you have what it takes, then sign up for a WIT Training Session. You must attend one of the scheduled training sessions to become a WIT. Once you have completed the training and start volunteering, you will work along a seasoned WIT to mentor you as you continue to learn and develop your skills on the job..
