Girl Scout Troop Riding Program         

The Ranch is open for troop riding programs during the school year on most Saturdays, Sundays and Fridays by appointment. You can come to the Ranch as a day trip or combine your visit with a camping trip to Keyauwee!

Whether your troop just wants to have fun riding horses or work on a horse badge or interest project, we have a program that is just right for you! 

 

Please note that reservations can be made up to 3 months in advance and participants must be at least 5 years old to ride.

Daisies & Brownines (Grades 1 - 3)

Pet - A - Pony

Fee: $16 per girl
Participants: Min. 6/max. 16
Times: 9:15, 11:00, 1:30, and 3:15
 
A 90-minute introductory horse program that includes a barn tour, grooming and a short, hand-led horse ride in the arena. Perfect for first-time riders – helps girls feel comfortable and confident

Pony Trails

Fee: $16 per girl
Participants: Min. 6/max. 16
Times: 9:15, 11:00, 1:30 and 3:15

This 90-minute program includes grooming, barn games and a lead-line trail ride through the woods. Actual riding time per person is 12-15 minutes.


 Juniors (Grades 4-5)

Saddle Up!

Fee: $16 per girl
Participants: Min. 6/max. 16
Times: 9:15, 11:00, 1:30 and 3:15

During this 90-minute program, girls are introduced to horse care through grooming a horse before going on a short trail ride. Also meet and greet all the horses at the ranch.

Horse Rider

Fee: $30
Participants: Min. 6/max. 12
Times: 9:30 and 1:30

This three-hour program helps girls explore the world of horses and equitation. Learn to groom and tack a horse, participate in a riding lesson and go on a trail ride. Other barn lessons will be taught to help the girls become well rounded and knowledgeable horsewomen.

Advanced Horse Rider

Fee: $30
Participants: Min. 6/max. 12
Times: 9:30 and 1:30
Prerequisite: Horse Rider

Want more? During this three-hour program, girls will groom and saddle their horse, have an arena lesson focusing on trotting and 2-point position and go on a trail ride. When not riding, learn about the equestrian world and other ground skills.


Cadette and Up (Grades 6+)

Horse Sense

Fee: $30
Participants: Min. 6/max. 12
Times: 9:30 or 1:30

In this three-hour program, older girls learn about the sport of equitation and horse ownership. The program includes grooming, tacking, riding lesson in the arena, a trail ride and other barn lessons to help girls become competent horsewomen.

Caraway Creek Trail Ride

Fee: $25
Participants: Min. 4/max. 7
Times: 9:15, 11:00, 1:30 and 3:15
Prerequisite: Horse Rider, Horse Sense or equivalent experience.

Saddle up for the best trails Circle C Ranch has to offer! Spend an hour meandering along Caraway Creek, cross bridges, ride up and down hills and through the woods. Ride NOT suitable for first-time riders, beginners or those who are nervous about riding.
