Bring your troop out to ride the horses. Come to just have fun or work on a horse badge! Troop Riding Programs are available on weekends throughout the school year. To schedule a program contact the Equine Program Director: kpchorses@northstate.net or (336) 861-8137.

Daisies & Brownies

● 1.5 Hour Experience
Learn about grooming and horse care through hands-on experiences. Then enjoy a short ride through the woods. Trained volunteers will hand-lead each horse during the ride.

Juniors

● 1.5 Hour Experience
Learn about horse care, grooming, and tack before going on a short trail ride through the woods.

● 2 Hour Experience
Learn about grooming, saddling, and basic elements of riding. Some badge requirements may be met. Includes a short group riding lesson and short trail ride.

● 3 Hour Experience
Complete your Horse Rider badge! Learn more in-depth about horse care, psychology and anatomy of the horse. Includes a longer group riding lesson and trail ride.

Cadette & Senior

● 1.5 Hour Experience
Learn about horse care, grooming, and tack before hitting the horse trails for a short ride.

● 2 Hour Experience
Group will cover some of the requirements for the Horse Sense Interest Project in addition to a short group riding lesson and trail ride.

● 3 Hour Experience
Covers additional badge requirements. Learn more in-depth about horse care, tack, psychology and anatomy of the horse. Includes longer group riding lesson and trail ride.

● Trail Rides (Juniors and up)
Great for families and smaller groups or troops who want a 1-hour experience riding the trails at Keyauwee. Cost: $12 per person. By appointment only. Must sign up as a group. 8-person max; 4-person min.
