Camping is an important part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Girls develop independence, resourcefulness and respect for themselves and the environment at camp. They learn trust, teamwork and their own strengths. Best of all, they have lots of FUN!
All of our camping properties offer exciting opportunities for both camping with your troop or as a Camporee. Troop camping is a year-round camping experience of 24 or more consecutive hours planned and carried out by a group of girls and their leaders at a council property or council-approved site.
A Camporee is defined as a camping experience hosted by a Service Unit that includes multiple troops from within the SU. The event needs to be a minimum of 24 consecutive hours. A Camporee is planned and carried out by a community of Girl Scouts- troops and adult volunteers – during which a minimum of two all-camp activities are offered to bring together the Service Unit community.
Before a troop or Camporee can stay overnight at one of our camp properties, there are required trainings that a troop leader must have. Please contact our Outdoor Experience Coordinator to verify what level of training is required for your type of camping trip.
You can see facility pictures and amenities offered in each unit or building on the Facilities/Virtual Map page under each camp.
